FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Does the equipment require a plug-in power supply?
A: No. TheShootingstreak® Modular System is powered by gravity.
Q: Is the installation permanent?
A: No. It’s a portable system that can be quickly mounted/demounted.
Q: Does it fold flat?
A: Yes. It’s a modular system and each module can be adapted to align flat for convenient transport, carriage, and storage.
Q: Are tools required for assembly?
A: No. All modules are preassembled. No assembly required*.
*In the purchasing case where Reverse Mounting Strap (RMS) module ships separately from Trainer or is not already in place, the RMS [set] may require mounting on the Lower Vertical Arms (LVAs). In such case, the procedure is to... see Reverse Mounting Strap [set] instructions.
Q: What tools are required for installation/mounting?
A: To mount Trainer, a stepladder may be needed or, if adjustable, simply lower the backboard goal assembly and then hang (1) Support Assembly on the backboard and (2) Trough Assembly on Support Assembly. There are also similar manual procedures which require no other tools for Reverse Mounting or for mounting other system modules: see (left sidebar) Information pages SideShield™ Ball Baffle and PracticeARC™ Archway. See also: Gallery key instructional videos.
Q: How much does it weigh?
A: TheShootingstreak® SystemPLUS [PracticeARC™ Archway] weighs 31 Lbs. [Combined total].
TheShootingstreak® System weighs 30 Lbs. [Combined] – Each module weighs as follows:
TheShootingstreak® Trainer – 20 Lbs. [Support Assy (SA) 12 Lbs. + Trough Assy (TA) 8 Lbs.]
SideShield™Ball Baffle screens: 5 Lbs. each (x2) = 10 Lbs.
Reverse Mounting Strap [set] (RMS): 3.5 oz.
Q: What are the Trainer module’s general specifications for size, materials, & board compatibility?
A: See (left sidebar): Specifications information page (below FAQs page). Note: some uniquely manufactured boards are incompatible for SA Reverse Mounting due to their having rear frame struts coinciding with the Trainer's (~1" O.D. ea.) tubular |x| SA arms which are spaced apart |x|<—22.5"—>|x| to 24.75" O.D. spanning (not filling) the area about the center of the backboard. Backboard struts located either inside the span of the |x| SA arms or anywhere outside the arms are compatible.
Q: Does it minimize court space obstruction?
A: Yes; when one or no SideShield™ Ball Baffle screens are mounted, it allows shooting floaters, hook shots, and layups close to the basket; but still, the Specifications page warning always must be heeded: “No slam dunking when device is in use”.
Q: Can the ball runway Track be extended for more distanced shots?
A: Yes. Slide: Track In – for short range shots
Track Out – for gradually longer shots
Q: Is it only for shooting free throws and straightaway shots or also for side shots?
A: Sidekicker™ deflectors provide additional options for practicing side court shots (typically done with one SideShield™ Ball Baffle module mounted to impede the ball from escaping far away off court).
Q: Can a player shoot from anywhere on the court without the device obstructing?
A: Yes*, when deploying just the Trainer; but purposely less when a SideShield™ Ball Baffle is mounted for shooting side shots or when delimiting a [PATHWAY TO ACCURACY™] straightaway practicing with both SideShield™ screens up; for example, for free throws.
*(Excluding locations coincident with or (for tall players) directly under the Trainer.)
Q: Does TheShootingstreak® equipment assist the player to practice arching their shot?
A: Yes. TheShootingstreak® SystemPLUS [PracticeARC™ Archway] is specifically designed for this purpose; whereby, the archway can be adjusted to a relatively low, medium, or high position to enable the gradual/selected shaping of shooting arc height.
Q: Is there a training manual offered for further guidance?
A: Yes*. There is a link – (also found on the Order page under SPECIALS) – to the User’s Guide training manual provided on this website’s instructional videos Gallery page.
